Overview

The Education Foundation encourages St. Vrain Valley School District teachers to submit grant applications for projects which support the District’s strategic direction, supplement standard curriculum and enhance efforts to meet student learning needs. More specifically we are interested in providing support for proposals that:

  • (are)Creative and innovative in scope
  • Results in improved achievement for students
  • Focus on closing the achievement gap for students
  • Encourages life-long learning

Process

Applicants should complete a grant application and submit it by TBD. Only ONE grant request per teacher will be accepted. Prior to submission, the grant application must be reviewed with your school principal or supervisor. If requesting hardware or software, please contact District Technology Services or visit the SVVSD Technology Store (http://store.stvrain.k12.co.us) to ensure that the technology is supported by the district.

All grant applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of Directors of the Education Foundation, St. Vrain Valley School District Administration and members of the community. The committee will use a rubric to evaluate each proposal. The rubric is consistent with the grant application questions. The committee will give a priority ranking to each of the grant applications and provide a recommendation for funding.

Award Amounts

Grants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; however, most successful applicants seek funding in the $500 – $2,000 range.  The Education Foundation allows funding requests from all content areas of education. Please highlight the correct category in your application for your grant request.

  • General Funding
  • STEM Funding
  • Special Education Funding

Evaluation

Each recipient of an Education Foundation Teacher Innovation Grant will be asked to complete an electronic evaluation form prior to the next grant cycle. The evaluation will include a summary of the details of the grant activity and the level of success achieved. Information on the number of participants, learner outcomes, and overall evaluation of the proposal will also be requested. Completion of the evaluation form will make the grantee eligible for future grants.

If you received a Teacher Innovation Grant for 2022/2023 school year you need to complete a grant evaluation before your application for 2023/2024 will be accepted. Click Here to complete the evaluation.

Grant recipients may be asked to submit a picture and brief quote regarding the impact of the grant to support St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation promotional campaigns.

Over the years here is what teachers say about the impact of Education Foundation grants:

From the bottom of my teacher heart I am so very grateful for the opportunity to add to my little learners creativity and imagination! The Education Foundation had been so wonderful for my classroom. We have many super cool things that we would not otherwise have! You all are a blessing!

Katherine LeMieux, Pre-K Special Education, Burlington Elementary

I am beyond excited to bring drones into our school as part of our STEM initiative. With cross-collaboration, students from all sectors of our school will be able to enjoy coding with our new drones. This is one more step in our plan to turn our students into digital leaders in this technology age of learning. Thank you so much for all the donations to make this project a reality for my students.

Jennifer Macios, Computer Science, Sunset Middle School

Thank you for continuing to support inspired educators looking to go above and beyond for their students and let their creativity open new doors for their programs, students, and education in SVVSD.
