Sunrise Stampede FAQs

  • What is the registration fee?

    5K Race Registration

    • SVVSD Student Registration (Registration includes race t-shirt and race medal)
      • FREE for the first 50 SVVSD Students to register for the 5K, courtesy of CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital.
      • $20 Early Bird Price (May 1st – May 21st)
      • $25 Regular Price (May 22nd to August 14th)
      • $30 Race Day Price (August 15th)
    • 5K Registration (Registration includes race t-shirt and race medal)
      • $25 Early Bird Price (May 1st – May 21st)
      • $35 Regular Price (May 22nd to August 14th)
      • $40 Race Day Price (August 15th)

    1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Registration is $10

    • Open to All Students and AdultsEntry into the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
    • FREE for the first 50 SVVSD Students to register for the 1 Mile Fun Run, courtesy of CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital.
    • Sunrise Stampede t-shirt can be purchased for $15

  • Are St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Students registration fees free of charge?

    The first 100 students to register for the Sunrise Stampede will receive free registration!

  • When is the last day to register online?

    Online registration must be completed by 8:15 am MDT on Saturday, August 15th.

  • Can I register to run the day of the race?

    Sure!  Walk up registrations are welcome.  Please note that race day registration does not include a Sunrise Stampede t-shirt.  Race day registration closes at 7:45 am for the 1 Mile Fun Run and 8:15 am for the 5K.

  • Is there an age restriction for the 1 Mile Fun Run?

    We will have a youth division and an adult division.  To race in the youth division students need to be 18 & under.

    Parents, guardians or siblings who would like to run/walk next to the Youth Fun Run participants can feel free to join them.  Only registered participants will receive a race medal.

  • When is the cut off for getting a t-shirt?

    Race participants for the 5K will get a Sunrise Stampede t-shirt if you register online by August 6th.

    1 Mile Fun Run/Walk participants can purchase a Sunrise Stampede t-shirt for $10 if you register online by August 6th.

  • Where does the race start and finish?

  • When does the 5K run/walk start?

    The 5K race will start at 8:30am

  • What is the course for the 5K run/walk?

  • When does the 1 Mile Fun Run start?

    The 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 8:00 am.

  • What is the course for the 1 Mile Fun Run?

  • Is this a timed event?

    The 5K run/walk will be timed.

    The 1 Mile Fun Run is not timed.

  • Can I walk?

    Yes! Sunrise Stampede participants are welcome to run or walk the 5K or the 1 Mile Fun Run. We want you to enjoy the beautiful day and have fun!

  • Are strollers allowed?

    Strollers are welcome.  For safety reasons we ask that participants with strollers start near the back, so other runners can safely run as fast as they wish.

  • Can I bring my dog?

    Sorry, NO pets allowed at the Sunrise Stampede.  Please leave pets home for their safety.

  • Do you give awards or prizes?

    Yes, to learn about our awards click here.

  • What happens after the race?

    Join us for post race refreshments and a sponsor fair with booths from our sponsors.  There will be games, giveaways, and activities for the whole family.

  • What does the race support?

    The proceeds support the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation’s Teacher Innovation Grants, including Special Education and Mental Health grants that empower educators and uplift students.

  • I am not able to run or walk, how can I support special needs students?

    You are able to make a donation through the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education that will be directed to the Teacher Innovation Grants for special needs Students.  Click Here to make a donation today.
