Sunrise Stampede

2026 Countdown

The Sunrise Stampede (established in 1985) is a family-oriented 5K and 1 Mile run/walk that raises funds to support Educator Grants, including Special Education and Mental Health grants that empower educators and uplift students. These grants are awarded to teachers who have innovative ideas that empower educators and uplift students.  Help us continue a community tradition.

2026 Event Details: 

The 40th annual Sunrise Stampede is right around the corner – and you won’t want to miss this legendary back-to-school tradition! Join us the weekend before school starts for a fun, family-friendly morning packed with community spirit and support for our incredible St. Vrain schools.

• 5K Run + 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk – Great for all ages and paces!
• Beautiful Course, New Memories – Enjoy our beautiful open space trails in this milestone year.
• Back-to-School Kickoff – Reconnect with classmates, teachers, and friends!
• Sponsor Alley – Games, giveaways, and activities for the whole family.
• School Spirit Challenge – The SVVSD school with the most participants wins a trophy and cash prize!
• Prizes for Top Runners – Awards in age categories for the 5K.

Race Details

• Tuesday, May 5, 2026 – Registration Opens
• Saturday, August 15, 2026 – Online Registration Closes at 7:45 am for Fun Run and 8:15 am for 5K
  • Must register online by July 22nd at noon to have the option for a t-shirt
• Saturday, August 15, 2026 – Race Day
  • 6:45 am – Check In, Race Day Registration and Sponsor Alley Open
  • 7:45 am – 1 Mile Fun Run Registration Closes
  • 8:00 am – 1 Mile Fun Run Start
  • 8:15 am – 5K Race Day Registration Closes
  • 8:30 am – 5k Start
  • 9:15 am – Awards Ceremony

5K Race Registration

• SVVSD Student Registration (Registration includes race t-shirt)
  • FREE for the first 75 SVVSD Students to register for the 5K, courtesy of CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital.
  • $20 Early Bird Price (May 1st – May 21st)
  • $25 Regular Price (May 22nd to August 14th)
  • $30 Race Day Price (August 15th)
• 5K Registration (Registration includes race t-shirt)
  • $25 Early Bird Price (May 1st – May 21st)
  • $35 Regular Price (May 22nd to August 14th)
  • $40 Race Day Price (August 15th)
• Register by Friday, August 7th to receive a t-shirt. Shirts will not be included for entries taken after August 7th.

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Registration is $10

• Open to All Students and AdultsEntry into the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
• FREE for the first 25 SVVSD Students to register for the 1 Mile Fun Run, courtesy of CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital.
• Sunrise Stampede t-shirt can be purchased for $15
